The second edition of Akumaa Mama Zimbi's Odo Ahumaso-100 Couples Night, aimed at educating couples on marriage came off last Saturday at the conference hall of the Earlbeam Hotel, Accra. The much awaited couples night saw patronage from both young and new couples. The oldest reigning couples have been married for over 25years with the youngest couple tagged at only 2years.

Though the night was meant for couples to get to know each other and learn more about sexual intimacy, foreplay among others, there were few young men and ladies who were present to learn the "trade" before they get married. They did learn a lot both from the resource persons and the experienced couples present.

Akumaa Mama Zimbi, the CEO of Zimbid Concepts and the emcee for the show did live up to her billing as the best female presenter in the country. Her knowledge and presentation skills on the subjects discussed made the couples relaxed and express their sexual desires freely and cheerfully. It was interesting how most of the couples were able to come out to tell all present the last time they made love to their spouse and the sexual positions they love best. The general atmosphere in the Earlbeam Hotel was not only full of romance but laughter and happiness.

Midway through the program, couples 10years in their marriage were asked to step forward. The couples with the most years had been married for 25years. In all, eleven couples made it to the final and they were further reduced to three. The couples were asked different questions and cases which they were to tell the audience how they will solve such marital cases. The winning couple did not only receive among other gifts a Honeymoon Latex Foam High Density Mattress and pillows but a trip to Ghana's prestigious Health and Beauty Spa situated at Sogakope for a free overnight weekend stay with full treat.

In an interview with Akumaa Mama Zimbi with the Weekly Fylla, she expressed optimism and gratitude to all the couples who turned up and her sponsors. "Because of the current atmosphere in the country, I mean the elections and the run-off and all that, many were those who bought tickets but didn't turn up. Hopefully, by next year there wouldn't be anything like this during December and we will have a packed house. Who knows by nest year the best couples would be flown to Paris or New York for a holiday."

The ‘100 Couples Night' was sponsored by Latex Foam, Ice Cool Purify Water, Golden Tree Chocolate, Ash Impressions and La Rota Wine have come on board. Others include Danny's Decoration, Pearl Chinese Restaurant, Earlbeam Hotel and Holy Trinity Spa and Health Farm. Media patners included Adom fm, TV Africa, Flex Entertainment, Weekly Fylla and www.chilloutghana.com. The ‘100 Couples Night' was organized by Zimbid Concepts.

It's all good talking about couples ie 2 in 1 mariages; but what have you got for those with more than 1 wife? Do you educate the couple on this forgotten and yet important aspect of our culture or we just curry on coppying the west and maintaining their way of life as superior to our's ie the original african marriage? Mind you the consequences of gingle marriages are all arround us to see so are those of multiple wife marriages, however they all have their place in maintaining our culture as Africans and Ghanains in particular. We can make a choice of single or multiple wifes while they cannot making our marriage a lot richer, stable and more open than their's could ever be.
