MOTHER’S DAY

Motherhood in Ghana has increasingly become difficult because of the breakdown of the extended family system, the economic hardship and the irresponsible character of some fathers. Sunday, May 10, 2009 was indeed a special day for all mothers in Ghana especially for those who were present at the Adom Fm Mother’s Day Celeberation. It was not surprising that Akumaa Mama Zimbi dedicated the number one talk in Ghana, Odo Ahumaso to all mothers the previous night.

MENTOR 4 FINALISTS

The finalists of TV3 Mentor 4 were advised by Mama Zimbi to abstain from unprotected sex and stay faithful to their partners. Among them were Mike who emerged winner of the contest, Sam, the first runner up, Angel, the second runner up and Julie, who came fourth. The 23 year old Michael Kesse Frimpong representing the Greater Accra region as Mike who won this fourth season of TV3's hit singing

ABOUT AKUMAA MAMA ZIMBI



Akumaa Mama Zimbi (known in private life as Mrs. Joyce Akumaa Dongotey-Padi) is an embodiment of a Marriage, Love and Sex speaker, a TV and Radio personality, a complete family woman and an outstanding actress with a humble beginning. She is a two time Arts Critics and Reviewers Association of Ghana (ACRAG) Award winner for her versatility and hard work.

Mama Zimbi is the host of Ghana's number one radio talk show on Marriage, Love and Sex, 'Odo Ahumaso' on Adom fm. Though, she is also the host of the superb TV talk show 'Akumaa Mama Zimbi Show', she is a regular feature on the most popular family sitcom on TV3, 'Efie Wura'. She is also a columnist in the widely circulated weekly entertainment newspaper in Ghana called The Spectator.


In 1999, she received the ACRAG Talent Award for Discovery, for her acting role in Cantata which is shown on the national television, GTV. She was also awarded the most coveted ACRAG Best Female Radio Personality Award in 2008, confirming her title as the 'Queen of Talk Shows' in Ghana.

OVER 2,500 WIDOWS CRY OUT



The National Chocalate Day was remarkably honoured on Saturday 14th February 2009 at the Ghana International Trade Fair Centre with the 2nd Widows Alliance Conference. This event organized by the Mama Zimbi Foundation (MZF) was a gathering of over 2,500 widows nationwide under one roof for their common good. These widows were given free medical examination and consultation, gifts and there were plenty to eat and drink as well.
