Ace presenter, Akumaa Mama Zimbi, otherwise known as Joyce Dongotey-Padi, who is the C.E.O of Widows Alliance Network (WANE), is likely to make Ghana proud in a few short months. The hostess of Adom FM's ‘Odo Ahumaso', an adult oriented programme, and a veteran actress, has been short-listed for the Wise Awards, an international award ceremony scheduled to take place in Doha, Qatar, on November 17. BEATWAVES gathered that the award show is part of a two-day global forum on education dubbed Wise Forum. The forum takes place between Novermber 16 and 18.

The mutual spirit that has engulfed all widows in Ghana to form associations in the various communities, mosques and churches under the Mama Zimbi Foundation (MZF) was on Sunday 7th June 2009 manifested in Hikpo and its surrounding communities in the Volta Region of Ghana. These energetic widows led by the Queenmother of Hikpo, Mama Adawu II invited Akumaa Mama Zimbi to formally inaugurate their newly formed association called the Women Alliance for Development which will be one of the over 200 widows organizations under the parenthood of Mama Zimbi Foundation (MZF).
